Dr. Victoria Galbraith is a Counselling Psychologist and Coaching Psychologist. Having been raised on the North Wales Coast, she is fully aware of the power of the sea for wellbeing and has always had a love of the ocean. She has worked clinically in the NHS and private sector; and for over 10 years as a university trainer of counselling psychologists. More recently, Victoria has branched out to couple her love of H2O with her professional expertise...hence, #seacotherapy was born.
Victoria currently runs an independent consulting practice and is keenly involved in the work of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Counselling Psychology Training Committee. She has recently co-edited the 4th edition of the Handbook of Counselling Psychology, published by Sage in 2016 and the Topics in Applied Psychology: Counselling Psychology text, published by Routledge in 2017. Victoria was invited to deliver the keynote public lecture at the BPS Division of Counselling Psychology conference in Cardiff, 2013; and has published 'The Sea as a Co-Therapist' in the Psychologist. This paper focused upon the current literature and evidence-base for SEAcotherapy. Victoria can also regularly be seen contributing to written and broadcast media features.
